IPCEI hydrogen projects approved by EU Commission
Rostock. On February 15, 2024, the EU Commission notified 33 European projects of the so-called “Hy2Infra” wave as part of the IPCEI Hydrogen and thus approved funding by the respective national states. The projects focus on the development of a green hydrogen infrastructure using a pipeline network of over 2,700 km, hydrogen production capacities of over 3.2 GW and approx. 370 GWh of storage capacity.
The HyTechHafen Rostock project, with a 100 MW electrolysis plant, an H2 pipeline connection to the planned hydrogen start network, local storage and a trailer filling station, is also part of this infrastructure wave.
“We are delighted that the next intermediate step has been reached and that our project is being recognized both nationally and internationally as one component of a connected hydrogen infrastructure. Receiping the national grant notification soon will mark another milestone,” says Dr. Ralf Tschullik, Managing Director of rostock EnergyPort cooperation GmbH.
